THE DATA RECOVERY PROCESS
If data appears to be lost by a malfunction caused by electronic or mechanical failures that
do not completely disintegrate or overwrite the media surfaces, then all or part of the data may
be saved using a delicate eight-step recovery process:
- 1. The source media is evaluated for recovery potential
- 2. The media is accessed in a clean environment using specialized proprietary temporary repair procedures
- 3. Raw data is copied to a safe temporary medium
- 4. A list of recoverable files is generated and emailed to the customer for verification
- 5. A firm price estimate is emailed or faxed to the customer for approval
- 6. After customer approval, the data stream is recovered and the files reconstructed and reassembled
- 7. Partitions and file structures are rebuilt
- 8. The recovered data is transferred to the destination media
